Before you start
-
All equipment is provided but should you wish to bring your own mat along, that is also fine.
- Clothing should be loose and/or flexible.
- Ideally you should not eat anything substantial for two hours before class.
- It is advisable to arrive five minutes or so before class is due to start.
- It is important to make known to the instructor, any conditions you may be suffering from, such as back or neck pain, high or low blood pressure, etc.
- If menstruating you should refrain from doing postures that require a lot of core strength (the use of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles) and inversion postures where the hips are significantly higher than the head.
- If you are recovering from an injury or illness and/or in any doubt about your ability to practice yoga, don’t hesitate to consult your doctor.
