Profile

Neasa began practicing Yoga at the age of sixteen, having long been involved in athletic activities, (everything from tennis to Tae Kwon Do). Yoga was the first physical pursuit where she felt encouraged to work with her body, rather than against it. The sense of grounded ness and deep feelings of contentment, which yoga created, combined to cement her love of Yoga from the first class. After practicing Yoga for nine years, mostly in the Hatha tradition, but also in Sivinanda and Ashtanga, she began teacher training with Carol Murphy of Green Lotus. She graduated in 2007 at the age of twenty-six a qualified Hatha Yoga instructor. She is a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and has been teaching Yoga in Galway since.
As a teacher, Neasa is interested in encouraging individuals to see their body as the oppostite of static or limited but a form that is constantly ready to change, regardless of age or previous experience. Class sizes are kept to a minimum to provide individual attention for individual needs. In a yoga class you should not only learn more about yoga postures, but also more about your own body. Neasa's teaching is influenced by Iyengar and the attention to detail within every posture, and Yoga Theraphy and the belief that postures resonate on an emotional and physical level.
